At its inception the \u00c9cole was entrusted with the mission of training high-level executives, thus building the human capacity to foster the rapid expansion of heavy industry (mining, energy, transportation, metallurgy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A well-balanced blend of scientific core subjects, engineering techniques, and economic and human sciences are taught by professors closely connected to the economic world and complemented by internships in industrial positions. This has contributed to forging the graduate identity of \u00c9cole des Mines de Saint-\u00c9tienne<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Targeting all sectors of the economy<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Graduates from the \u00c9cole des Mines de Saint-\u00c9tienne have crafted and promoted the right conditions for technical progress in the whole industry, well beyond their original field, in France and abroad. They have been instrumental in the development of innovative production and management methods, and in the introduction of new technologies, across the successive steps of industrial advances. They have progressively penetrated all the sectors of industrial firms and more recently of services: materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, IT, industrial engineering, microelectronics, health engineering, quantitative finance…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
